Chopin and Nielsen

Macedonian virtuoso Simon Trpceski has ranked among Europe's foremost pianists over the past decade. This evening he performs Chopin's lyrical and stunningly beautiful Piano Concerto no. 1.

The year 2015 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Carl Nielsen. The ISO pays tribute to the Danish master by performing his extremely popular Symphony no. 5 under the baton of Finnish conductor Pietari Inkinen, who has led the ISO numerous times, always to the audience's delight.
