SANA'A, Yemen - A trailer for a new documentary explaining the origins of the Yemeni conflict, the Houthi Ansarullah movement, and why a Saudi-led coalition is devastating the Arab world's poorest country, has just been released.
One of directors for the project in speaking exclusively with Fort Russ News, Rune Carlsen Agerhus, explained that the project will allow for legitimate Yemeni voices be heard.
"The most distinctive part of this project is that the regular Yemeni citizen will have a say on it. Most Yemenis disagree with the western narrative saying that the movement in charge of Yemen is Iranian backed and a proxy organisation," he said.
"None of these labels are true to reality, so that's why I've teamed up with Yemeni cameramen to film and interview regular citizens as well as revolutionary soldiers," he explained.
"They've felt neglected and alone during these tough years of armed and social resistance against the Saudi-led aggression, but now they finally have the chance to let their voices be heard," he concluded.
There has been no set date for its release, but Fort Russ News will continue to follow developments.
